Acadia National Park

Many National Parks have pretty strict dog rules and some for pretty good reasons.  Most ban them for their own safety due to the wild animals that live there or for the safety of the animals that call the park home, but there is no better feeling than finding a National Park that welcomes your pups with open arms.

We have been lucky enough to visit quite a few very dog friendly National Parks, but few have rivaled the beauty of Acadia National Park.  Growing up the East Coast, the coast is kind of the coast, but not when it comes to Maine.  Maine itself is a beautiful state, but Acadia is gorgeous.

Dogs are allowed everywhere that people are, with the only exceptions being the rock climbing portions.  There are so many different areas to explore, from mountains, to ponds to beaches, to seaside cliffs.  This park is truly a gem!
